Mojo Monday 334

Hi everyone.

Beginning of a new week!  Hope you all had a lovely weekend.
New sketch at the Mojo Monday Blog.
Here's the card I've made following the sketch:

and Julee's sketch:

For my card I've used bg papers from the 'Stationary noted' range by Teresa Collins, and some small pieces from my stash.  I've cut my circles with Spellbinders nesties.  The flower is the 'Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose' from the Die-namics range by MFT and the flourish is the 'Leafy Flourish' also by MFT.  I've put some gesso on my flower to soften the grey a bit.  Added some black rhinestones and a grey pearl in the centre of the flower.  That's it!

Hope you're having a great start to your week!

Thanks for popping in and  I love comments!!
Kind regards
Petra

RS#102

Hi everyone.

Second post for the day!  This time it's for my card following the current sketch over at the Retrosketches Blog.  This is what I have made:

The sketch:

For my card I've used a piece of patterned paper from my stash (don't have the details anymore) and some black and white cardstock.  The swiss dot EF I've used is from Cuttlebug. The daisy and leaf stamps are from Verve (VS-09-PJ016 and  'Bloom & Grow' set) and the leaf was cut with the coordinating die from the 'A CUT above DIES' range by Verve.  The sentiment stamp is from a local craft shop, Great impressions.  The sentiment is in Afrikaans and says: 'Just for you'.  I have heat-embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  The banner at the top was cut with the 'Pennant Trim' die from Verve.  Added some black rhinestones to finish it off.

It's quite cool today in George and we had some lovely rain all morning.  So nice after the very hot days we had yesterday and on Monday.  Hope wherever you are in the world you are having a lovely day!

Off to have some coffee!!
Thanks for popping in!  I love comments on my work, so if you've got a minute or two, I would love you to tell me what you think of my card!

Kind regards
Petra

Some more coffee!!!

Hi everyone.

Another card I have made using my coffee stained paper.  (You can find the detail in this post which is also a entry for the ATCAS challenge.)  The codeword for the current ATCAS challenge is 'Coffee'.

Here's my card:

For my card I've stamped flowers from the 'Lean on Me' stampset by Verve, on my coffee stained paper and cut them with the coordinating die.  The sentiment stamps is also from the 'Lean on Me' set by Verve.  Added some black twine and it was done!

Thanks for popping in.  Have a great day!!

ATCAS#34

Hi, everyone.

Second post for today and this time it's for the challenge at the ATCAS Blog.  The codeword for the challenge is 'Coffee' and I first I thought I would have to skip this challenge 'cause I don't have any stamps or dies that has anything to do with coffee.

Well, I came up with a plan to be able to take part in the fun of making a 'coffee-card'!!

Here's my card:

I took a piece of white cardstock and made my own coffee stained paper to use!
I adhered some drywall tape to a piece of white cardstock and painted it with some water.  I then sprinkled some coffee grannuals onto the wet surface and dried it with my heatgun.  I removed the drywall tape and I had a lovely piece of coffee stained paper to use for my card!
I've cut a 'Leaf-filled Flourish', from MFT, from my stained paper and from a piece of black cardstock.  Adhered both die-cuts onto my card front and stamped a sentiment from the 'Lean on Me' stamp set by Verve,  onto the card.  (for my sentiment I was thinking coffee and friends go together!!!)
Finished it all off with some black rhinestones.

I have made another card with the negative of the die cut to show you what the piece of stained cardstock looked like.

This card has a lovely smell!!!  LOL!!

Think I need a cuppa now!!!

Have a super day!!
Kind regards
Petra

Hi everyone.

A post for the card I have made for the current sketch challenge over at the CAS(E) This Sketch Blog.

My card:

and the sketch:

Got a bit carried away with the sketch, hey!!
The stamped image I've heat-embossed with clear embossing powder and the sentiment with gold embossing powder.  Both the image and sentiment is part of the Chronology stamp set by Papermania, which I got as a free gift with a magazine some time ago.
The cog I've cut with a die from a set by Xcut and I've heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder to give some shine.
The small flower was cut with the 'Flower Trio & Leaf Trio' die set from the Die-namics range by MFT.
Added a strip of drywall tape and a gold strip at the bottom.
Rounded it off with some black rhinestones.

Thanks for popping in and have a lovely day!!
Kind regards
Petra

Masculine Mojo

Hi everyone.

After I have posted my Mojo Monday 333 card yesterday, I had a look at it again and discovered that I totally forgot to add the panel running from the top to the bottom!!  So I'm back with another Mojo Monday 333 card and hopefully I've got it right this time!!  I went for a masculine card and this is what I've made:

and here is Julee's sketch again:

The chevron bg paper is by Glitz (Cashmere Dame Collection) and the other papers I've used are by KaiserCraft (Hunt & Gather Collection) and Prima (Fairy Rhymes Collection).   The frame and sentiment stamps are from a local craft shop, Great Impressions, and the sentiment is in Afrikaans and says 'Congratulation'.  The small cog stamps are part of a set by Papermania which was a free gift with a magazine some time ago.  The cogs I've cut with dies from a set by Xcut.  The flower die is part of the 'Flower trio & Leaf Trio' set from the Die-namics range by MFT.  Added a twine bow and some black rhinestone and it was all done.

Hope I didn't forget something again!!

Have a lovely day, thanks for popping in and I love your comments!!

Kind regards
Petra

Mojo Monday #332

Hi everyone.

My favourite day of the week ...yes, that's Monday 'cause there's another fun sketch over at the Mojo Monday Blog.  This week it's a lovely sketch by Debbie.  Not having any nice big heart stamps or dies, I opted for flowers instead.  Here's my card:

For my card I've used some patterned paper from the 24/SEVEN range by Simple Stories.  I've stamped on a manila tag and used some white and black cardstock for the rest.  The sentiment stamp is from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.  The sentiment is in Afrikaans (my home language) and says:  'Congratulations'.  The flower and leaf stamps are from the 'Bloom&Grow' and 'Lean on Me' sets by Verve and I've cut them with the corresponding dies by Verve.  Added a little button as on Debbie's sketch, and that was it.

Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate comments!!

Have a lovely start to your week!

and here's the sketch:

The metal flower embellishment I got at a local scrapbook shop.  I've curled the petals very slightly upwards to give some dimension. The daisy I've cut with the 'Flower trio & Leaf trio' die set from the Die-namics range by MFT.  I've finished my flower off with a button and some twine.  The sentiment stamp is from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.

Not much more to say about this card!  Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a super Sunday!!

Petra

ATCAS#31

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all having a super weekend and that you have lots of time to be creative!

The codeword to work with at the current ATCAS challenge is 'Love' and I have made the following card for the challenge:

For my card I have used a new stamp that I bought at a local craft shop, Great Impressions, yesterday.
The large 'U' and the heart I have cut with dies from Verve and the smaller letters were cut with an alphabet die from Tim Holz.  I've given the heart a bit of shine with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer.

Those of you who visited my RS#100 post during the week, will remember that I had a Fiscal Shrike visiting me while photographing my card.  Well this time I had a Fork-tailed Drongo inspecting my card and he also, jumped right onto my card!!

Wonder which bird will be next!!

That's it for this Saturday-afternoon, I'm off to do some scrapbooking.
Thanks for the visit and have a lovely day!
Regards.
Petra

RS#100!!

Hi everyone!!

I can not believe that 3 months have passed since I did my last post!!!  I was busy with so many things I just could not find the time to make cards.  What great fun I had visiting everybody's blogs last night and that was enough motivation to make two cards this morning.  The first card is one for the current sketch over at the retrosketches blog.

Before I show you my card I want to tell you about the sweet little visitor I had, inspecting my card.
I had my card ready to photograph when a juvenile Fiscal Shrike came and sit right next to the card.  And then ...hop, hop, hop and jumped right onto my card!  I could not believe my eyes.  (Nowadays I use a bit of tick tack to make sure the wind does not blow my card into the fish pond below - it did happen once before!!  ...so thanks to the tick tack my card could stay in place with a Fiscal Shrike sitting on it!)  My DH and eldest son are keen birders and they feed the birds cheese on a daily basis - they would come and sit on your hand to collect some cheese.  This little guy was most probably wondering where it's cheese was!!  He hopped off the card, turned around and off it went - it was so exciting and luckily I had the camera ready to take some photo's!

Here's the little guy (and my card!):

And here's my card after my friend left:

and the sketch:

For my card I used some dry wall tape on the black strips and the blossoms were cut with the MFT 'Flower Trio & Leaf Trio' die set from the Die-namics range.  The flourish is just a small piece of the 'Leaf-Filled flourish', also by MFT.  The small piece of chevron paper is by Simple Stories from their 24/SEVEN range.  The black twine is from a local bead shop and is used to make jewelry (I think!!), but I find it perfect for cards (and what's more - it's very cheap!!).  The sentiment stamp is from the 'You & I' set by Verve and the chevron stamp is form the 'Borderline' set, also by Verve.

Thanks for visiting, I would love you to leave a comment and hope to see you again soon!

Regards!
Petra.
